For 15 years we have been working for orphaned, vulnerable, offended, sick and abused children in the slums of Nairobi. We take care of 2,500 children, a drop in the sea of need, among the hundreds of thousands who inhabit the slums. We take care of them with love, accompanying them in their growth within our projects. We have built schools in the slums to give them primary education, to give them clothes and medical care, to ensure they get food everyday.
Our first orphanage on the outskirts of Nairobi. Today it houses 100 children who come from situations of severe poverty and degradation. They receive food, water, necessary medical care, schooling and lots of love.
In Korogocho is located our nursery school. We take care of 20 children from 0 to 3 years old, whose mothers work in the Dandora landfill. Our children receive all the necessary care and continuous socio-educational and health assistance.
Our first school was founded in 2007. Today it is attended by about 1500 children who attend classes and live among their peers in a happy oasis within the slum of Korogocho. Here they receive lunch and social and health assistance.
We have been supporting and sustaining the elementary school of Dandora since 2014. Today it is attended by 800 children, a happy oasis where they can study in freedom and tranquility, have lunch and receive the social and health care necessary for those who live in the slum of Dandora, at the foot of the garbage dump.
The objective is to guarantee the right to health to all children in the slums of Nairobi and rural areas of Kenya who are beneficiaries of Alice for Children programs. Today, through the telemedicine project, the presence of a nurse in schools and a ten-year agreement with Neema Hospital, all children are assured of continuous health care.
Technical-secondary scholarship program for the pursuit of studies beyond elementary school for children from our orphanages, those reintegrated into families and for the best of the elementary school where we operate. Boys and girls during the school term are housed at our Alice Twin House hostel, adjacent to Alice Village.
The first and only school in Kenya to teach Italian cuisine, a passport to the world of work. The tourism sector is booming in Kenya: through professional training dedicated to cooking, boys and girls enter the world of work with knowledge and skills. And they can aspire to fair and decent work contracts.
